Suppose your employees start picking soft fruit with full gusto. Your picker in question puts a sticker on each full tray of strawberries or raspberries. All trays are then collected on a single pallet, after which each one is scanned and the pallet is given a master label.
This master label contains all the information you, as a supplier or as a buyer, could possibly need. Indeed, you will discover at a glance how many trays of fruit a single pallet contains, how many kilos the pallet weighs in total, what varieties it contains… in short, the essentials!
But there’s more because this master label proves particularly valuable for the entire process that follows. Picture this: you’ve completed your crop picking and put the delivery on a freight transport with the delivery note headed towards your consignee. The latter takes possession of the cargo and only needs to do one scan to download all the relevant data into their account.
This way, they know exactly what they have purchased and what the next steps are. Think of loading, sorting, refrigeration… you always have the necessary details at hand quickly. So the barcode from the beginning is exactly the same as the one at the end.
