Recently, we at Agromanager developed a brand new tool in our software, which enables you as a fruit grower to generate detailed customized reports that you can then use to optimize your fruit production. Specifically, it is a user-friendly calculator that allows you to calculate the CO2 emissions caused by the production of each variety and kilo of fruit.
How much diesel did your production process consume?
We created this entire module at the request of a well-known supermarket chain, which wanted to display the CO2 emissions of its fruit per piece on the packaging for consumer information. However, this calculation is anything but obvious, and is also strongly influenced by some crucial parameters.
Think about how much diesel you as a grower used during your production process, for example, and over how many fields that was exactly. Or how much electricity in total crept into the crop, and whether it came from green energy or nuclear energy?
Cooperation with Vogelaar Vredehof
In other words, the customer in question needed an innovative form of technological and automated support: let that be precisely what we at Agromanager specialize in. And so, in collaboration with Vogelaar Vredehof, Dutch specialist in hard fruit, we developed a CO2 tool that involves a number of important steps.
Measurements over a few months, a quarter or even a year
For example, it is important that you as a grower indicate the exact period over which we need to measure CO2 emissions, and you will also be asked by the tool to indicate your crop year (or several months or quarters of it). Then the software will also ask you to fill in other fields, such as your starting stock, ending stock, spray prescription, your harvest, ...
Don't enter manually but import automatically
But wait: you already use Agromanager? Then all this info, which you used to have to enter manually, can now be imported directly from Agromanager. If you also need to enter how many liters of Diesel your employees have consumed in total, you'll know this from your invoice and you can enter this, on an annual or monthly basis, using percentages.
Everything is logical for you as a grower
Easy, because this way you can perfectly take into account the liters that your contract workers have consumed elsewhere and thus not spent on your own fruit. Or how many liters per family member went into your private consumption, for example. We have thought of every detail, even the integration of built-in controls so that you never overlook anything.
So the data your supplier or buyer needs will be processed in a simple way that is logical for you as a grower, thanks to this new tool from Agromanager. Your buyer can then retrieve this form or report from Agromanager with a simple click, saving you both time and effort. A streamlined process that benefits both parties!
